My New Old Singer Sewing Machine

I got an old, 1960s Singer sewing machine from a fellow Etsy seller through FreeCycle.

It came with a case, attachments and manual. It is a Touch & Sew, model # 628. The only thing that was missing was a zipper foot. Any sewer knows you have to have a zipper foot! I purchased one from eBay.

The machine works great. I love it!!!

My poor Brother Sewing Machine will be gathering dust now that I have this Singer.

  1. I was just browsing the internet, looking for Singer Touch & Sew 628, and came upon your post from 2008. I also own a 628--bought it used in around 1980, and have sewn on nothing else since. I once had to replace the plastic gears when they broke, but otherwise it is a dream of a machine, and has worked faithfully for years. I love it!
